You Can Help

Approximately 97% of the young people we serve stay in school and remain on track to graduation.

One of the primary reasons for CIS’s success is its volunteers. A meaningful one-on-one relationship with an adult goes a long way in keeping a young student in school and on-track for graduation. By becoming a mentor, you can become the special person in a young student’s life. You can make a real difference.

CIS mentors meet with their mentee once weekly during normal school hours at the student’s school. No special skills are required beyond listening and caring. A CIS staff member is assigned to each CIS school and will assist you with any issues that may arise. A mentor is asked to remain with his or her mentee for the balance of the school year.

Tutors are needed to assist students who have fallen behind in their course work. Tutors are needed in all subjects, but especially in math. Tutoring is done on an as-available, as-needed basis.

From time-to-time other administrative volunteer opportunities become available. For more information, call 561-471-9681 or email us at [email protected]. Join the team by filling out the Volunteer Form below. Make a difference in the life of a young student – thank you!
